Simone Biles

Simone Biles is an American gymnast. Born on March 14, 1997 in Columbus Ohio U.S.A. The 2016 Olympics took place in Rio de Janeiro and Biles was one of the U.S.'s first female gymnast ever to win 4 gold medals. She also claimed the world championship for all-around, three times in succession (2013-15). Biles was born in Spring Texas, in the Houston metro region. She and her sister Adria were adopted by Ronald and Nellie Biles. Simone was introduced to gymnastics by her daycare instructor Aimee Borman at six years old. Biles stayed with Bannon's Gymnastix for 11 years. Biles has won the gold and bronze medals in the Women's Junior Olympic National Championships 2010 on the floor and vault prior to her first appearance in 2011 in the elite category of competition. Two years after that, Biles dominated the sport. Biles stood out for her constant performance her exuberant attitude and the level of difficulty that she included in each event--vault bar, uneven bars, balance beam and ground exercise.
